The Pandora Film Festival

The Pandora Film Festival , (August 1965, during the Watts uprising), hosted by Marsha Kinder in Westwood, California.

Although I saw it as merely a marathon masquerade party, featuring the group painting of a mural, swimming, and prizes for the best film-related costume and best original home movie, some of the guests took the contest very seriously, especially the winner, Bill Moritz, who later listed it on his cv. In any event, at the end of the party, all the guests went to the midnight screening of underground films at the Los Felix Theater.
