It has been a real pleasure to collaborate with Mark on a range of diverse projects—an experimental prototype for a video game dealing with issues of gender, sexuality and race; an exchange program with a film school in Beijing which gave our students a chance to collaborate on a documentary with someone from China; and a video-based website on autism. Although Mark is a USC Distinguished Professor and has won three Oscars for best documentary, he is very open to ideas coming from others and is always eager to learn new things and try new genres. He is also very committed to giving students a chance to participate in these projects. He’s an ideal collaborator.
